It was getting darker. Well, at least it was supposed to be getting darker. Instead, the raging lightings of Mighty Zeus kept the sky burning and flaming with the fury and will to battle off any illusional trace of Darkness, which would dare disturb it’s overwhelming. Spectacular, but not quite what Dita’s state of mind required. She needed the peace and silence of the darkness, so that her phosphorous thoughts could shine. And the impatience of swiveling into the arms of the night was driving her crazy. Dita was standing like the disturbed statue of an unperturbed worry, carried out through the centuries of being. Oblivious to the beauty of a small, yet marvelous and blooming garden around her, Dita was secretly admiring her perfection in the crystal waters of her fountain. Blood was pumping in her ears like the rebellious waters into a sinking ship, her thoughts were rushing through her tense body, causing it to tingle at every eye blink, her heart was racing as fast as the light itself. She was like a destructive mine, about to explode; the tension was unbearable. Why was her once dearest Hephaetus drifting away from her mind and heart into a bin of forgotten feelings? Why was another name causing her heart to flip and pray? And the worst bit was that she liked it, the adrenaline elated her to an unknown state of pleasure and satisfaction. She felt a loss coming forward. A loss bringing with it an even greater victory. And then those birds started singing. Oh how she hated those birds, their meaningless noises those mortals called songs. “Pfuit!! “ she hissed. Then with a distasteful brow she turned her arched back to her faithful mirror and drifted further into the palace, where she hoped to find some peace. She walked into her spaceless room, feeling a bit calmer than a second ago and decided that thoughts could wait, since they were there to stay. So instead of twisting and playing around with them in hear head, she grabbed a wild lock and dug her gentle fingers into it instead.

Hepaetus leaned back against the wall and gazed dreamily at his wife. Aphrodite had always been immaculate - more beautiful than the finest women of Rome even. He had never traced such a perfect frame and features that graced a woman's face. It surprised him how she reminded him of his mother who never needed any decorations or make up to have her look her best. Just like his new wife.
If it wasn't for Zeus she would have never been his wife perhaps. Hephaetus had problems with women... he feared them, their touch. But his Aphrodite was gentle and virginal and didn't demand satisfaction and pleasure but waited and loved him. He smiled watching her waterfall of perfect hair over her shoulders and back,"Aphrodite, my love?" he smiled still not moving.

The familiar voice from the darkness startled her and her body took a sudden turn towards the wall. She then saw his flawless silhouet; handsome, manly and gentle. All inquintous thoughts dissolved in thin air. Ofcourse she loved him, ofcourse it was more than just an agreement between her and her father. He had always been there, through all times by her side. Surely sometimes she'd long for perhaps a bit more passion in his glance and his touch. Sometimes lack of satisfaction developed destructive doubts and anger but she still loved him with all her being. A caring smile then carressed her face and the sparkle of her thoughtful eyes reached his. "Yes, my life."

Hephaestus grinned gently at his perfect wife and came up to her, gently pecking her soft cheek. "I missed you, my love. Work seems impossible these days without you around me." Heph stroked her smooth hair before letting go of her still so unsure of what he was doing. "How was your day my love?" he asked watching her beauty from the side. Being married to the most beautiful woman on the mountain when you yourself were a cripple - Hephaestus had problem with his right leg from the harm Zeus had caused to him when he was a boy. But Aphrodite, being so innocent and naive made it seem like she didn't care about his bad leg or his insecurities... all she wanted was him.

He simply oozed the gentleness and love she craved. And she was being so horrible to him, even if only rarely and only in her own secert thoughts... How was her day? Her day was good enough, if you crossed out the part where filthy thoughts nearly conquered her mind. But he couldn't know that, not now or ever, as a matter of fact. For the sake of her love and her marriage she would make them depart forever. She could, she was a tough goddess! Oh, his eyes. How sweet was the sensation of love they carressed her with every time they gazed upon her. Right then and there the realisation hit her like Mighty Zaeus' lighting. Her day was perfect! It became perfect the moment he limped into the empty room. Being the quiete and reserved man he was, he radiated all the bright things she needed in life. And she was going to let him know just that. "Now that you're here, my life, my day will be at it's best." And she allowed her hands to envelope his insecure body in their care.

"That's marvelous."Hephaestus said shyly wrapping his arms round his slim frame,"My beautiful wife..." he nuzzled her hair gently and pulled her to sit on his lap as he sat on the couch. "Aphrodite... I think we need to discuss the, um... well... the sex part." he said looking away,"You have to understand it's me... not you..." the words were difficult to find. Shaking his head he rubbed his forehead and tried again,"You see... the problem with me..." Why was this so impossible? Why couldn't he just throw her against the bed and make her his own like Zeus and Ares did to every woman that came across him. Why couldn't he make beg for him again and again? He just couldn't.

She was startled for the second time that day. Sex part? This was unexpected and it had to come out just as she was trying to put that painful matter aside! Why was he making things so difficult?! What was she saying? Behind every man stood an insatiable desire for sex. And she couldn't even imagine the insecurities of a man who was isolated from tha world of ravish. Ofcourse they had to discuss it, correct? Who else could he share this matter with if not her? Support was what he needed and support was what she would give him, no matter what. Oh but it was so difficult! How could she look him in the eyes? What if he told her that they could never share passionate moments in bed alone, like there was no time and space? And how could she pretend like she couldn't care less. But nothing was definite yet, she would simply have to pull the break of speedy conclusions and allow him to speak. "Well, um, right, yeah. I can imagine this is an, uh, uneasy subject for both of us. But before you say anything else I just want you to know that I love you, no matter what. And that, well, whatever the problem, we're in this together." Then, holding her trembling breathe in complete mental jeopardy, she stared at him agonisingly and waited...

Hephaestus looked down at his feet just to avoid eye contact with Dita. Now what could he say back to this? That he was afraid of sex? He grew into a gorgeous man who spent pretty much most of his days shirtless and hammering tools... and Dita, she was beautiful and of course needed the sexual attention she wanted. But he was incapable of giving that. "It's not like I don't want you I do... but.... I can't..." Hephaestus pecked her lips gently and drew his eyes away. "I... well... I, um... I'll try but..." Hephaestus kissed her again,"It'll happen... I promise."

"It'll happen...". How incredibly full of hope, belief and assurance. "Forgive me, but I'll give that promise the benefit of the doubt", thought Dita as she kissed him back, for the first time with her eyes open. What was he afraid of? What could be so terrifying about one of the most incredible sensations the body was created to experience? Well, she would have to wait, becasue there was no other choice. "Ok, well, it'll happen when it'll happen. Let's not plan it, I'm not pushing you, my life. Take your time." Why was she beginning to sound like a restless man who constantly demanded sex from an exhausted wife? Ridiculous! But what else was there to say? Whatever there was, that seemed like the perfect answer.

Hephaestus nodded at his wife and stood up to move away from this uncomfortable conversation. "Darling, I've brought some wine for dinner tonight. What are we having?" he quickly changed the subject. It was so difficult for him to discuss such subjects. He simply never could just spit it out and tell her exactly what he feels. A normal man would bed Dita every night but that was the point - Heph was never normal.

Too tired to argue or ask any firther questions, Dita drifted into the kitchen, ignoring the question. But not because she was angry or anything. She had simply forgotten all about dinner, what with all those thoughts of hers. Oh well, now they were even. One point for wife who doesn't receive any sexual affection and one point for husband, who doesn't receive any food.
