The messenger of Olympians didn't know how tired he was that day. Zeus had been giving him a lot of tasks to do lately, well, it was his duty right as a messenger of the gods. Hermes never grumbled about his job. In fact it was amazing, he could even travel around the world with the winged cap and sandals gifted from Zeus. Though yes, it was exhausting.
Today he had been to mortal world, he visited Troy, Mycenae, and Sparta to meet the kings and gave the letters from Zeus. Hermes never knew what was inside Zeus' letters, since it wasn't his right to know what was inside it. It was a business between the kings of mortal world and the king of Olympus. After that, Hermes went to Athens to see pottery center. He always loved that place. Luckily he still had a chance to spend time for his pleasure in the middle of his job.
So he could make his way back to Olympus that late afternoon. He didn't head back to his palace but he decided to stay for a minute in meeting hall. It was quiet, nobody was around. Hermes approached a bench. He sat on it and took off his winged cap. Then he laid on it.
"Ooh...boy, what a day..." he stretched his back, it wasn't until he felt someone was coming. The sense was quite familiar, sure he or she must be an Olympian. Hermes sat straight. He looked around, nobody was there. "Who...who's there?" he called out.

Nike's wings folded behind her back as she landed in the meeting hall. She was searching for solitude but only found Hermes as she walked in. She was quite shocked and would have turned red if that was her thing. She just sighed as pushed the hair from her face as she walked up to the same bench. She sat hoping her silence and stone face would make him go away. No if he would have been Apollo or Ares she would have been happy as she could be, but Hermes had spent little time with her and he was not one of her favorites. Instead she just hoped to make him as miserable as possible and maybe her coldness would carry him away

The young looking god suddenly felt someone's presence in the meeting hall. Someone familiar already sat next to him. Just about time, he was glad that it was her, Nike. Hermes always adored the goddess, she might not be the most beautiful one in Olympus like Aphrodite, but for Hermes, Nike was the most beautiful goddess he'd ever seen.
"Afternoon, Nike." he greeted the goddess of victory. "Looking beautiful as usual, M'Lady. I haven't seen you lately in Olympus, where have you been?" Nike looked even more elegant with her wings opened for Hermes, she would look exactly like an angel

Nike almost jumped at his kind words. She was sure her face held shock as she looked at him. Hermes knew her well but she had not trained him like the others. She had always overlooked him as a god and a man. Her wings pulled in tight around her and her head dipped a little as her hair fell in her face. She dared let the corners of her lips twitch into a slight grin. She looked at him her eyes bright instead of cold.
"Hello Hermes." That was all she could squeak out as she curled her knees to her chest and sat on the bench. She felt a strange vibe from him, a vibe she rarely felt from any other god

"Hello Hermes."
Hermes noticed Nike's shock expression. But no matter expression she had, Nike still looked beautiful, even when she was shocked. In fact, she looked even more beautiful in that expression. Hermes liked her even more when she smiled, grinned, or chuckled. He didn't know why but those of Nike's actions just made him awkward.
"Hello Nike." he smiled as he leaned himself against the couch lazily. He turned to look at the goddess of victory again and then frowned. "You look shocked earlier, did my appearance shock you?" He missed her, Nike was always the one Hermes found amusing. She was...different than other gods. Hermes didn't know why, Nike was just different, somehow yes, amusing for him. He hadn't seen her around lately that he missed to see her in Olympus.

"I just...it's nothing Hermes." Nike shook it off but was still rattled. Her face was stoic again but inside her head gears were turning and her stomach was flipping trying to figure this out. Why was he being so nice to her? She had never been very kind to him and yet he was being pleasant to her. She decided to talk to him more and try to solve this curiousity.
"So what are you doing here?" She wasn't used to making normal polite speech. All she ever talked about was war and she rarely started that. She was used to being a loner outside of her chats with Ares, Athena, and Apollo

"So what are you doing here?"
Hermes took a deep breath and blew it slowly. "Just in need of refreshing." he stretched his back and groaned. Ugh, my back! he thought as his muscles crackled. "Zeus just gave me another task to deliver messages to kings of Greece." Today had been hectic for Hermes. He wanted a day off, a day where Zeus wouldn't give tasks. Hermes had spent too much time for his job. But well,it was his job, right? As the messenger of the gods?
No one in Olympus could take his place if he planned for a day off. He was the only one who could do that job. "So how about you Nike? Is today your busy day as well or..." Hermes was sure Nike didn't do anything as hectic as Hermes. It was good to be her, enjoying life wandering around with her wings. Life wasn't so busy for her, maybe.

"Well war is abundant amoung mortals and gods and all pray constantly for victory. I think your life is a little more crazy, but only a little." Nike smiled as she thought about it. She could see how tired he was in his face. It would be hard being the personal messenger of Zeus but her job was no picnic either
"I think I'm taking my job a little better than you as well." She gave a half grin as she watched him with curiousity. Her eyes were ablaze and she was a little too interested in Hermes
