The Winchester boys find themselves in none other than Sunnydale California. Immediately they find themselves in over their heads and dipped in many new ideas. They never knew there were slayers, demons who didn't inhabit the bodies of humans, werewolves that could control their change, a different breed of vampires that could not touch sunlight unlike the ones they are used to fighting that merely don't like it, witches who weren't evil, watchers, demons who aren't necessarily evil. They come in on a demon hunt, the I live inside the body of the human type, and don't leave finding themselves in an extraordinary alliance with the Slayer and her friends. Buffy is untrusting of the boys at first, they know nothing of the hunter world, she is conflicted with whether or not to trust the two boys. There is something big bad and evil coming and no one knows what it is, all they know is it' headed for Sunnydale, they don't know from where. For all they know it could be Lucifer himself trying to stop the most powerful alliance in the world.
Buffy finds herself single again just before the boys get there and is falling head over heels in love with one of them. That one of them was none other than Dean Winchester. The man most likely to hurt her, just as she's been hurt all those times before, but this time he's not a vampire or an unstable army guy. He's a hunter and she doesn't know how to deal with that, nor does she know how to deal with Faith who recently returned to Sunnydale, hearing about the big bad, and who has shown an odd attraction to the younger of the two Winchester boys. What will happen in this turmoil? And who will find where their heart lies?
